Miguel A. Anselmo Espitia is a Mexican multimedia artist based in Oregon who primarily works with photography. Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest from a young age, his perspective is shaped by a blend of his heritage and the lush full landscapes of Oregon. This connection helped rediscover his creative purpose after high school, leading him back to the lens of a camera. He rebuilt and honed his foundational skills in multimedia arts through the Visual Communications (VC) program at Chemeketa Community College (CCC), before continuing his education at the Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA). There, his practice evolved into experimental grounds where his photographic work constantly expands.
His distinct visual perspective and hands-on approach have earned early recognition, including being featured and awarded in the student art show at the Gretchen Shuette Art Gallery and prominent features at the Lightbox Gallery.
Currently, Miguel’s work bridges the gap between narrative storytelling and conceptual art. Focusing on experimentation, along with traditional mediums, he pushes the boundaries through the lens of photography. Ultimately, his goal is to build a bold, narrative driven world that sparks curiosity and invites the viewer to experience his visions.
